My Story

From a young age art was my favourite past time. I would spend each Summer in my Nana and Grandad’s house drawing, painting or doing anything that involved arts and crafts. My Grandad, Harry, was also an artist, mainly oil painting, so he had a huge influence on me. I never went to any art classes to learn how to paint, I was just lucky enough to inherit (some of) his talent.

When I left school I knew I wanted to do something which involved art but at that time there were no obvious jobs in the industry like there are now. An artist was not seen as being a “realistic” job. I decided to prioritise my Leaving Cert rather than focusing on the NCAD portfolio (which students are expected to complete alongside their Leaving Cert). Unsure of my career path, I enrolled for an Art Portfolio Course which gave me the year to work on my portfolio and apply for various courses. I applied for DIT and received full marks (600/600) for both their Interior Design course and their Visual Merchandising and Display course. At this time, VM wasn’t known - I actually remember Googling what exactly it was!! I couldn’t believe such an exciting job existed, so I gladly accepted and began that September.

After 3 years, I successfully accomplished my BA in Visual Merchandising and Display in 2014 and went on to work with some renowned Irish owned companies - Kilkenny, Ez Living Furniture and Avoca. I loved every minute working for each store and made some life long friendships along the way.

In 2019 I decided to take the opportunity to travel with one of my best friends. When I returned, there were very few VM jobs so I decided to take an administrator job until something more suitable came up. In the process, I ended up working in recruitment. It was my first office job so it was very different for me but I learned so much. Little did I know that the skills and knowledge required in recruitment would stand to me today running my own business.

Like a lot of people, the pandemic gave us all time to think. I was a creative person in a corporate job who was unsatisfied in my day to day role. So, I decided to take a chance, follow my dream and start selling my artwork.

I particularly enjoy creating meaningful pieces of art which capture life’s special moments. My nursery collection was inspired by the birth of my first nephew, Harry who arrived in July 2020. Once I created a painting for his arrival, I discovered a whole new passion and have expanded on my nursery designs which you can browse right here!

I have many prints available but if you would like something more personal created for yourself or a loved one, feel free to get in touch (Email, WhatsApp or Instagram) to discuss ideas together.

I really hope you love my artwork just as much as I enjoy creating it for you!
